The Hosea Generation (Part 2)
Join us for part 2 of our discussion on The Hosea Generation - spirit-filled believers rising up amidst division and discord. Empowered by the Holy Ghost, we bear a ministry of evangelism, offering charity, tenderness, joy, and strength to those around us. We're taking a deep look into Hosea 1:2.
We live in a time fraught with willful departures from the Lord, division, and the rise of false brethren. This is not a time to cower and despair but a time to heed the message of Paul in 2nd Timothy: "Hold fast, stand firm, minister, and do the work of an evangelist." We'll discuss the importance of pursuing the Lord and walking out our belief in Him.
NEW BOOK! I'm pleased to say that we have completed a new book that has been years in the making. The Ten Shirot: Songs of Redemption looks at ten songs that were sung through pivotal times in Scripture. It's an examination of the redemption of Jesus, of worship, and of Scripture in a way that we believe you probably haven't seen before. Check it out at https://a.co/d/0a4KIooL .

Hello and welcome to the Redeeming Love Bible broadcast. My name is Phil Duddy, evangelist with Grace Baptist Tabernacle of King, north Carolina. Really glad to have you with me for part two of the Hosea Generation series. I'm, as always, wanna invite you to reach out to us at redeemingthelossedicloudcom. We would love to hear from you, we'd love to know how to pray for you and we'd love to hear what the Lord is doing in your life. Hosea Generation part two. Now we need to remember kind of what we established in part one.
Speaker 1:What is this thing called the Hosea Generation that the Lord is raising up in the churches both in America and around the world? Basically, it's a group of people. It's a group of born-again, spirit-filled, bloodwashed people who love the Lord Jesus and have a ministry of salvation to the people around them. It's a charitable ministry, it's a tender ministry, it's a joyful ministry, it's a very strong ministry. Why is it so strong? Because the Holy Ghost is empowering it and sustaining it and causing it to grow and causing it to bear fruit. But it's charitable, it's tender, it's joyous, it's strong and it's going on in the midst of a whole lot of division on a lot of different levels Division in the churches, division in our cultures, you know all sorts of different kinds of ways that this division kind of takes shape. But it's a very, very divided time. But the Lord is bringing up a generation of people in the church who are going to minister. In that time there's gonna be a very salvation-focused ministry and those are sort of the hallmarks of it. That's sort of the tone of the ministry. It's charitable, tender, joyful and strong.
Speaker 1:Today we're gonna be back in Hosea, chapter one. Let me go ahead and read chapter one, verse two. This is what the word of the Lord says. Hosea one, verse two the beginning of the word of the Lord by Hosea. And the Lord said to Hosea go and take unto thee a wife of hordoms and children of hordoms, for the land hath committed a great hordom departing from the Lord. We need to look at that first sentence first and beginning of the word of the Lord by Hosea.
Speaker 1:You know again, keep in mind here that you have something to say if you are a person in Christ, no matter what your background, no matter what you've been through, no matter how much that the Lord brought you out of. There's a good old song, you know, about the Savior reaching down, and he had to reach way down for me, but no matter how low the Lord had reached to you, you have a word from the Lord, amen. Because so many times, you know, I talk to so many people and they're like you know, I've got this thing in my past and it keeps on coming up and it keeps on giving me trouble, keeps on giving me grief, it keeps on getting me down. You know, I keep on getting scared, I keep on getting, you know, feel like I'm not worthy of the ministry or whatever that case may be. But I'm here today to tell you that you know, if you are washed in the blood, your sins are forgiven. You are crucified with Christ and that is a finished work, my friend, you are crucified with Christ. He forgets your sin. He doesn't when he looks at you, he doesn't see your sin, he doesn't condemn you. So don't condemn yourself and also don't talk yourself out of what the Lord is doing in you and what the Lord is doing through you. Don't talk yourself out of that because functionally, here today to tell you, functionally, there is really nothing holding the church back that the Lord hasn't already dealt with. There is nothing holding his people back. There's nothing holding the church back that the Lord has not already dealt with.
Speaker 1:Sin is no longer an issue in the eyes of God. Sin is the personal sin of a Christian, you know. It was nailed to the cross. Jesus became that sin and he died an atoning death and he took all the wrath of God and he rose again. And Christian man, woman or child doesn't matter if you're a pastor, doesn't matter if you're a deacon, doesn't matter if you sing on the music, doesn't matter if you're a greeter or you take care of the church facilities, doesn't really matter kind of where you are in the body of Christ. But you're in the body of Christ and God doesn't see your sin when he looks at you. So don't bring it back up and don't allow it to limit or hold back.
Speaker 1:Don't talk yourself out of what God is wanting to do, what God is able to do, what God is willing to do, what God has made every provision to do, both in you and through you, both in you personally, that you may bear fruit, that your joy may be full, that you might experience what it is to walk in peace. You might physically experience what it is to be a joyful person, what it is to be a bold person, what it is to have wisdom, what it is to have authority, what it is to be blessed like you. Go back to Matthew, chapter five, and you'll see a lot of blessed, blessed, blessed, blessed, blessed. And that's not something that you work into. That's where you start, that is where the Christian starts, that's where a born-again child of God starts. The minute that you're born again, the minute that the blood of Christ is applied to you, the minute that the Holy Ghost comes inside and you are spirit filled, you are blessed. That's where you live, that's where you work, that's where you play, that's where you eat, that's where you go to bed and that's where you wake up in the morning. You're blessed. That is your normal, that is where you start and that is where you end. You are blessed and nothing, no accusation out of your past, do not allow it to have any place in your life Functionally. There's nothing holding you back.
Speaker 1:You know and again I've mentioned this before, I've heard some of the most profound you know. You know God has, you know, really used people in my life and they were sick and they had, like these, really serious chronic illnesses. But even that illness, even that pain, even that, you know that. You know the state of the flesh, the state of the body, even that tiredness that a lot of them were feeling, that did not stop the anointing of God, that did not stop the word of God from coming through. And they minister, you know, even until this very day as I'm recording this, they minister in really powerful ways, even though that they have this physical, you know illness thing going on. But they are powerful, mighty men of God, they are ministers.
Speaker 1:So this disease, or your situation, or your place in life, functionally there's nothing that the Lord hasn't dealt with. That's my point. And so, functionally, you know, I think you need to look at. You know what is in your life. Is there a place in your life where you are holding back the Holy Ghost? Because you know there were times that Satan hindered Paul, but nine times out of 10, kind of what we need to look at here before the Lord is nine times out of 10, we ourselves hinder what God wants to do through us. You know we grieve the Holy Spirit in this way. We despise prophesies. You know all that things from you know the latter part of First Thessalonians grieving the Spirit. You know, do not grieve the Holy Spirit, do not despise prophesies. There's a list over there. It's a really, really powerful thing. Hallelujah and Amen.
Speaker 1:But look at you know, you need to see that. How do you know? Is there a way that you're hindering what God is wanting to do through your life, what God is wanting to do through you, in your family, in the church, with your brothers and your sisters and the Lord, and when it comes to reaching the lost? Because God, you know, had a beginning of the word of the Lord by Hosea and the Lord said to Hosea go. And Hosea had to go. Hosea, you know, it's sort of implicit here that he believed the word of the Lord. Because, you know, he went. He went and performed this ministry. He went and the word of the Lord came through him to so many other people on his day. Down to us today, in the present day, we've got it right here. So the Lord used this man powerfully, but he had to believe and he had to go, he had to love and he had to obey. He had to do that personally. You know, and I'm here to tell you today, you know, amen.
Speaker 1:You know, if you've been born again, you've not only experienced a miracle, but you know and this isn't, you know, hokey or corny or anything you are a miracle, you are a sign and a wonder to the people around you because of what God has done in you. You were once one way, now you're another way. You were once, you know, lost, and now you're found. You're blind, now you're see. You know you were dead Spiritually and now you're alive, and there's all this stuff, you know.
Speaker 1:You know, maybe some of us were depressed. You know, some of us had lust, some of us had like serious anger going on, and now we're different people. Now why are we different people? Because of something that was done in us by a holy, almighty, loving, merciful, charitable, authoritative King of Kings, lord of Lords, god, who came down. You know, we believed his word, we believed him, we trusted him, we ran after him, we sought him. He sought us and we sought him back. He loved us and we loved him back and he did things in us. He forgave us, he loves us, he healed us, he raised us up, he brought us out of darkness and death and destruction and gloom and doom and despair and hatred and murder. You know all sorts of different things. He broke addictions. He changed our situation because he changed us, and so we've got something to say, my friend.
Speaker 1:But I think the Lord would have me say to you don't bottle that up and keep that inside, but yield to the Lord, submit to the Lord and let it out, because people need to hear from you. People need to hear from a born again person. People need to hear from a church who's in love with Jesus. People need to hear from a spirit filled church. People need to hear that and people need to see that and people need to experience that because in doing that they are going to experience and encounter the Holy Ghost himself. How are they gonna do that? They're gonna encounter the Holy Ghost in you. They're gonna encounter the Holy Ghost in your church, and so anything that's stopping that, anything that's kind of getting in the way of that, fundamentally take it out. Take it out, get it out of the way so that the river of living water can flow, amen, and it can flow and it's not gonna kind of run into anything that's gonna stop that Because functionally, there's nothing, nothing of sin, nothing of Satan that the Lord has not dealt with and amen, and that is a good word.
Speaker 1:That is a good word to the church. That is the word of God to the church, and I really believe, if the church hears this and gets ahold of this and walks in this and interacts with the Lord here, that we're gonna see a lot more evangelism, we're gonna see a lot more fruitfulness and we're gonna see people being born again. We're gonna see cities and towns, states, nations. We're gonna have an impact in this generation. But we've gotta kind of get it in our spirit and in our day-to-day life that we are blessed and that the Lord is alive and that the Lord is well and that the Lord is living and he's interacting with people today and his promises are sure, and nothing of our past that the accuser of the brethren might bring up, nothing in our present, though. There's no present circumstance that the Lord has not dealt with, and we need to trust him and we need to walk and we need to go.
Speaker 1:And so Jose says you know, he says to Jose, go and take to the wife of hordoms and children of hordoms, for the land have committed a great hordom departing from the Lord, and so we gotta look at what this is. You know what is this thing? You know, take unto the wife of hordoms and children of hordoms. There's a physical hordom and it's adultery, fornication, prostitution. What we're talking about here and Jose, is our type and form for what the Lord is doing today, in Jose's day, the land you know, old Israel and again he was a prophet in the Northern Kingdom that land had committed a great hordom. What was the great hordom? They departed from the Lord. Hordom is basically a departure, you know, like in the physical, like a wife departs from her husband or husband departs from his wife. There's a departure that goes on.
Speaker 1:We're talking about a spiritual thing here, talking about people who were with the Lord and they departed from the Lord and they moved away from the Lord. You know, the Lord is like here and they moved somewhere else, they moved away from the Lord. And this hordom thing, this moving away, this departing thing, is a volitional act of the will, it is an act of desire, it's an act of you know, okay, I'm with the Lord and now I'm going to willingly make a decision and get moving and I'm going to depart from the Lord, but it's a willful type of a thing. So we're talking about, you know, a land that has committed this. You know, in our day today, you know, like, we've got so much in the New Testament that talks about a falling away. We've got so much in the New Testament and it talks about false brethren coming into the churches. We've got seducers on the inside. We've got evil men on the outside trying to, you know, take people away from the Lord, trying to initiate this departure, trying to, you know. We've got, you know, markers and scorners. You know we've got evil men and seducers waxing worse and worse. And we've got all this stuff in the New Testament that tells us that in the last days things are going to be like, messed up in the church. There's gonna be all this division. I'm talking about all this, you know, and all this going on. But like I was reading this morning in Second Timothy, you know, and Second Timothy, chapter three, if you look, you know, talks about these perilous times that are gonna come about in the last days, and we are living there.
Speaker 1:Now, what did the spirit, through Paul, tell Timothy? And that letter is for Timothy and that letter is for so many other people today. You know, what did the spirit tell us to do? You know, okay, you know, hold fast, stand, minister, do the work of an evangelist. You know, you can look at. You know First Timothy and Second Timothy. You know and you'll find that instruction. You'll find that instruction in the book of Jude. You'll find that same instruction in what the Holy Ghost gave John.
Speaker 1:In First John, the word says things like keep yourself. The word says things like, you know, stand fast. The word says things like abide in Christ. The word says things like keep yourself in the love of God, obey him, trust him, hold fast to what you have. Walk worthy and he got Paul beseeching people. You know. Walk worthy of the Lord, walk worthy of what the Lord has done in you.
Speaker 1:We are not instructed to go with the apostasy. We are not instructed to go with the departure. We are not instructed to go with those who turn away from the Lord. You know, but you know, you know, we're even saying you know. If somebody's you know acting disorderly or disruely, you know, or if they're causing all this strife, debate, causing all these problems in the church, the word of God says turn away. And what that means is don't follow them. Don't follow them, don't allow them to teach you, don't allow them to influence you, don't do what they're doing, but you keep yourself in the Lord. You stand fast in the Lord.
Speaker 1:You do the work on the evangelist in this time. You hold fast and you abide in Christ and you love Christ and you obey Christ and you walk with Christ and you talk with Christ. Amen and hallelujah. You pray in the Holy ghost and you pray about everything. You pray about all things. You cast up your cares to the Lord who cares for you. You trust him. You walk with him. You know you walk worthy. You walk worthy as the Lord has already made you to be. You walk like you're living in the temple of the Holy ghost, because that's who you are. You walk like you're joyful, because that's who you are. You walk like you're forgiven. That's who you are. That's how you live. You live the blessed life, you live an abundant life, you live in peace, you live in joy and you live in hope.
Speaker 1:Amen, and so much of this evangelistic work that the Lord's calling forth. That's the tone of it, that's where people encounter it, that's what people see. You know they see people who are joyful and blessed and peaceful and you know like not worried and stuff like that, and it's just so different and we have so much opportunity just in living as the Lord intends us to live, to say, okay here, why don't you meet Jesus here, why don't you come and hear his word and you encounter the Holy ghost for yourself and you encounter Jesus for yourself. Yeah, you've sinned. Yeah, your sin. You know there's a wrath and there's a justice and there's a judgment on that sin.
Speaker 1:But you know I got a word for you today. God loves you and this is how he loves you. This is how he proved it. While we were yet sinners, christ died for us. While we were yet sinners, he became our sin and he took all the wrath of God in our place. And that applies to you. You know you can be born again today. Do you believe these things? Do you trust these things? If so, call upon the name of the Lord Jesus and be born again and be saved from the wrath of God and be forgiven and be blessed and receive the Holy Ghost and be, you know, receive every spiritual blessing in heavenly places.
Speaker 1:You know, and there's this love because you know we're gonna encounter people, you know, and they're gonna be in the middle of consequences because somebody in their life turned away from the Lord, because their church may have turned away from the Lord. We have that going on in America right now. We've got a lot of division in the church, we've got a lot of deception going on in the church and a lot of it goes back. You know, at least several decades in America, you know. At least you know one, two, three, four, you know seven or eight decades, even 10 decades, even 100 years in America and we've got people who have had a lot of consequences in their life because either they turned away from the Lord, somebody they know turned away from the Lord and it sort of hit them. But there are a lot of consequences of this going on.
Speaker 1:But we need to have this charitable ministry, this tender ministry, this joyful ministry, this strong ministry, and we need to, you know, have grace and truth when we're out there winning souls, because you're gonna encounter, you know, whoredom and you're gonna encounter all the results and the consequences of whoredom. You know whoredom being departing from the Lord somehow and you know hallelujah and amen, because the Lord is raising up people to go and minister to those people who are hurting, those people who are in their sin, those people who dying in their sin, those people whose sin is affecting them and affecting other people and the Lord raises up people in his church to go and to tell the good news. And I think it's really, really important that we see this too, that in the New Testament you know, especially when you're looking at Paul sometimes he would call this my gospel. You know when they're. You know in First Thessalonians it's called our gospel.
Speaker 1:Because you know why is it called that? Because you believed God and it had a profound personal effect on you. You were no longer the same person. All things have become new. The old things are passed away. You know, the old flesh is nailed to the cross and it's not getting out of that, it's not getting up again. And now you know this spirit, the Holy Spirit of God, is inside you and ministering and you're walking with him and you're talking with him and you're changed and you're different and it's for the better.
Speaker 1:There are consequences for turning away from the Lord and there are bad consequences. But there are also consequences for believing the Lord and following the Lord and trusting the Lord and loving the Lord and serving the Lord and worshiping the Lord, and you know, just rejoicing in the Lord. There are consequences for that too. You know, and God has given you. If you're born again today, amen, he has given you all the best good consequences and it's a blessing.
Speaker 1:And if you're not born again today, if you're out there, you know, listening to this somewhere, and the Lord is showing you hey, you are yet in your sin. Well, you know, that is a blessing, my friend, that is an absolute positive. You know, blessing from the Lord. He shows you that you're a sinner, he shows you that you're lost. He shows you all this death and destruction that your adultery, your fornication, your murder, your hatred, your pride, your ego, your arrogance, your drunkenness, you know all this junk has brought about in your life. And he's not showing you that to destroy you. He's showing you that so that you will turn to him.
Speaker 1:And the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, you know, so that you will fear. You know you'll have the kind of trembling you're like and because all of that has been against the holy God, all of that has been personal, from you to God, and you've offended God, you've sinned before God and it's the mercy of the Lord that you're alive today because unless something changes, you're facing the wrath of God. But God's here to tell you. You know, something can change. You can turn to him, you can put your faith in him, you can put your belief in him. You know if the Lord's showing you that and you can call upon the name of Jesus.
Speaker 1:Right now, if you're in the fear of the Lord, you're trembling, you know you're believing him. Well, I've got good news for you. Today your sin can be forgiven. You can be forgiven, you can be made new. You can have All of these blessings, you know you can have forgiveness, you can have peace, you can have joy, you can have hope. It's all extended to you. Will you believe Jesus and will you turn to Him and will you call upon the name of the Lord?
Speaker 1:You know, if you believe Jesus, kind of there's this thing that goes on inside you in your will and it kind of comes up through your mouth, and you know, and you know amen. You know, call upon the name of Jesus. You can talk to Him like he's standing right next to you and he will hear. You know, if you, you know he's not going to despise someone who believes Him. He's not going to despise someone who's humble before Him. He's not going to despise someone who sincerely wants to be, you know, saved and born again and forgiven and made new, and wants Him. You know he's not going to despise someone who sincerely wants the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords to save your, to come into their life. He's not going to despise you. So call upon Him. If you're there, you know, don't even wait for me to be done talking, call upon Him right now. Amen.
Speaker 1:But you know we're going to continue this series. You know I want to thank you so much for listening. We're going to be continuing on with this and you know I want to.
