How can embracing the authority of Jesus Christ transform your life completely? Join me, Phil Duddy, as we unpack the profound messages found in the closing verses of Matthew chapter 28, where the resurrected Jesus meets His disciples on a mountain in Galilee. Despite the awe of witnessing His resurrection, doubt lingered among some disciples, an experience that we explore in-depth. Discover how Jesus' declaration of divine authority offers believers joy, confidence, and peace, and learn how submitting to Him can reconcile us, fill us with the Holy Spirit, and forge a personal relationship with the Savior who actively guides our lives.

NEW BOOK! I'm pleased to say that we have completed a new book that has been years in the making. The Ten Shirot: Songs of Redemption looks at ten songs that were sung through pivotal times in Scripture. It's an examination of the redemption of Jesus, of worship, and of Scripture in a way that we believe you probably haven't seen before. Check it out at https://a.co/d/0a4KIooL .

Speaker 1:

Greetings, hello and welcome to the Redeeming Love Bible Broadcast. My name is Phil Duddy, evangelist with Grace Baptist Tabernacle of King, north Carolina. Very, very blessed to have you with me, glad to be broadcasting once again and excited to have you with me as we begin a new series out of Matthew chapter 28. As always, please do feel free to contact us at redeemingthelost at iCloudcom. We would absolutely love to hear from you. But let's go over to Matthew, chapter 28, and we're going to be looking at the last few verses of this book and we're going to be here for the next few broadcasts, because the Lord says a whole lot that he wants us to hear today in what he says to the 11 disciples during this interaction. So let's start Matthew, chapter 28, verse 16, and we will read through the end of the book.

Speaker 1:

Then the eleven disciples went away into Galilee, into a mountain where Jesus had appointed them, and when they saw him, they worshipped him. But some doubted. And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye, therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and of the Holy Ghost, teaching them to observe all things whatsoever. I have commanded you and lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen, hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah the words of Jesus, and what we are getting here is a very, very close, personal time of interaction between Jesus and these 11 disciples, and it's really, really interesting. They go up into Galilee, they go into Galilee and they go to this mountain where Jesus had appointed them, and when they saw him, and glory, amen and hallelujah, they saw him. This is after Jesus was crucified, this is after Jesus died, this is after Jesus rose again from the dead. And so they are seeing him, they are interacting with him, they are speaking with him, they are witnessing him, with him, they are witnessing him. I mean, he's right there in front of them and they're having this interaction. And, folks, this is an absolute miracle, because Jesus had died and Jesus had been buried and Jesus had been in the tomb for three days and glory, amen and hallelujah, jesus came up out of the grave. And that is a precious, precious, precious thing, and that is an amazing thing, that is a gracious thing and that is a glorious thing that these people are able to see Jesus and have this interaction and they see him, they worship him and, at the same time, scripture records some doubted, so they worshiped him, but some doubted, and the glorious thing is that Jesus came and Jesus spake to them. Jesus came and spake in the middle of the worship. And Jesus came and he spake to those who were doubting at the same time. And that's a precious thing, my friend, because he speaks to worshipers today and he speaks to doubters today, and the glorious thing is that Jesus still speaks. He speaks to the church and he speaks to the world. He speaks to people who sincerely love him, who sincerely follow him, who sincerely obey him and who sincerely yeah, just have this glorious, glorious, glorious relationship with him. Jesus speaks to them and Jesus also speaks to those who doubt. Jesus speaks to those who are in their pride. Jesus speaks to those who are in their fear. Jesus speaks to those who are in their lust and Jesus speaks, my friend, jesus speaks and Jesus speaks. And to these, immediately, to these 11, now you've got this mixture of worship and you've got this doubting going on at the same time.

Speaker 1:

And Jesus came and he spoke to the entire group. He came and he spoke to all 11 of these people as they were up in this mountain. And this is how he leads off. He says all power is given unto me in heaven and in earth, all power. And, my friend, that is a creation-wide authority, a creation-wide authority. This is the King of kings, this is the Lord of lords of kings. This is the Lord of lords. This is the Son of God. This is the Lamb who was slain and he shed his blood and he is risen again. This is Jesus Christ and he has all authority, all power in the heaven and in the earth. And this is how he leads off to this group of 11 men and in the earth. And this is how he leads off to this group of 11 men. He announces that all authority is given unto him, that he is the King of kings, he is the Lord of lords and he has received this authority, all authority in the heaven, all authority in the earth.

Speaker 1:

And, my friend, that is a great source of joy, that is a great source of confidence, that is a great source of peace, that is a great source of comfort for those who have submitted themselves to Jesus now, a great source of joy, a great source of confidence that the Lord, that you are with, the Lord, that you are in the Lord, who loves you, and you love him in return. He is the King of Kings and today, this very hour, this very moment, all power is given unto him in heaven and earth, and you are washed by his blood. Your sin is forgiven, you are reconciled to him. You are filled with the Holy Ghost. You are in relationship with him. You are reconciled to him. You are filled with the Holy Ghost. You are in relationship with him. You are in fellowship with him. He is leading you and you are following him. You are trusting him, you are obeying him. You are walking with him. You are talking with him. You are praying to him, and glory be to God. He is hearing those prayers, he is answering those prayers.

Speaker 1:

He is moving in your life. He is moving in the people you're praying for. He is moving in the situations that you're praying about. He is moving to meet the needs that he knows that you have. He is moving to make provision. He is moving to complete the good work that he has begun in you. He is moving to bear fruit in you. He is moving to use you to reach other people with the gospel. He is moving to use you to help people get saved. Glory, hallelujah and amen. He is moving to use you to impact this world and he is moving to use you to preach his word so that all men might know, all women might know, all children might know that there is a God.

Speaker 1:

He is alive today. He is moving today. He is loving today. He is King today. He is Lord today. He is Jesus today. He is the same yesterday, today and forever.

Speaker 1:

And he is interacting with this world and he is speaking to this world and he is merciful to this world and he is moving in this world and he is merciful to this world and he is moving in this world and he is gracious, he is. He's got goodness out, he's got mercy out. He is following people around. Bless god and amen. Goodness and mercy. They are following you all of the days of your life and, my friend um, they bring you to his grace, they bring you to his peace, they bring you to his comfort. They bring you to his grace, they bring you to his peace, they bring you to his comfort, they bring you to his joy, they bring you to all the good fruits of the Holy Ghost, because they bring you back to Jesus and all power is given unto him in heaven and in earth.

Speaker 1:

This is how he leads off and, my friend, there is a love relationship. There is a glorious thing. There is a great amount of security, there's a great amount of peace in knowing that the Lord that you love is a king. The Lord that you love is an authority. He's not just a king, he's just not an authority. He is the king above all kings, he is the authority above all others and, my friend, it's all power in heaven and in earth.

Speaker 1:

His word is trustworthy because he is trustworthy. His word is true because he is true. His word is faithful because he is faithful. He is perfect in every single way. He is our great high priest. I was just reading that this morning. Glory and hallelujah, he is our great high priest.

Speaker 1:

I was just reading that this morning. Glory and hallelujah, he is our great high priest and he knows you and he loves you and he cares for you and he ministers to you and he sustains you and he counsels you and he comforts you and bless God, he is going to see it through the good work that he began in every single member of his church, every single man, woman and child who is filled with the Holy Ghost, every single man, woman and child who is washed in the blood. He has begun a good work in you and bless God, amen, glory and hallelujah. He is going to see that work through to completion, because all power is given unto him in heaven and earth. And that's the kind of God he is.

Speaker 1:

He's not a God who goes back on his word. He's not a God who says one thing and does another. He's not a God who says one thing and does another. He's not a God who forgets a single promise that he ever made to you or to anybody else. He's that kind of Lord, he's that kind of King, he's that kind of God. And bless God and amen. He is good to those who obey him today, and even those who do not obey him today, even those who resist him today, even those who hate him today, even those who rebel against him today, even those who accuse him today, even those who twist his word today, even those who do not obey him today, they have the opportunity and, my friend, if you're in that number and you're listening to this broadcast, you have an opportunity to obey Jesus.

Speaker 1:

You have an opportunity to submit yourself to Jesus. You have an opportunity to yield to Jesus. You have an opportunity to believe Jesus. You have an opportunity to call upon the name of Jesus. You have an opportunity to be saved from the wrath of God. You have an opportunity to call upon the name of Jesus. You have an opportunity to be saved from the wrath of God. You have an opportunity to be born again. You have an opportunity to get your sin forgiven. You have an opportunity to be filled with the Holy Ghost. You have an opportunity because Jesus is speaking to you today and he's saying all power is given unto me in heaven and on earth.

Speaker 1:

And bless God that'll minister to a disciple. Bless God that'll minister to the church. Bless God. That will encourage the church, that will edify the church, that will lift up the church, that will give the church something to praise God about, something to be thankful for, something to pray about, something to minister in, something to move forward in. That'll give the church an occasion to have repentance, an occasion to have fruitfulness, an occasion to have revival, because the head of the church, jesus Christ himself and scripture tells us he is the head of the church, scripture tells us he is the husband of the church and the church is his bride and all power is given unto him in heaven and on earth.

Speaker 1:

But even if you're not a member of the church today, even if you hate Jesus today, even if you resist Jesus today, even if you mock Jesus today, even if you ridicule Jesus today, even if you accuse Jesus today, even if you accuse him and you hate his church, oh, bless God, he still speaks to you Because the Lord is merciful, because the Lord loves you, because the Lord cares about you, even in the midst of your anger, even in the midst of your hatred, even in the midst of your fornication, even in the midst of your drunkenness. This same Jesus, who is king of all kings, he is love and he loves you and he knows you and he ministers to you and he showers you with mercy. And you don't believe me that he showers you with mercy. Well, bless God, you're still living. Bless God, you're still breathing. Bless God, your heart is still beating. Bless God, you still have the ability to listen and the ability to hear Jesus. And, bless God, he's still drawing you today. He is slow to anger. Amen and hallelujah. He is rich in mercy. Amen and hallelujah.

Speaker 1:

And that's towards you today, no matter what kind of sin you've done, no matter what sin you're in, no matter what kind of sin that you are planning to do, he is with you today. He knows about your heart, he knows about your mind, he knows about your sin, he knows about your wickedness. He knows about all of that and yet he still speaks to you. And he doesn't speak to you to destroy you. See, he's speaking as a king, he's speaking as lord and he is not speaking to destroy you. If he was speaking to destroy you, you would be destroyed already. If he was speaking to kill you, you'd be dead already. If he was speaking to wipe you out, you'd be wiped out already, because scripture tells us amen and hallelujah when his wrath moves just a little bit, when he speaks to you in his wrath, just a little bit, nobody can withstand that. Nobody can withstand that. So he has a wrath, yes, he has a wrath of God, and hell is a very, very real place.

Speaker 1:

My friend, I got to tell you that today there is a real wrath and there is a real hell. And yet, if you're listening to this today as a lost person, you're listening to this today as someone who doesn't like Jesus doesn't want anything to do with him. You're listening to this today as someone who has heard this before. And you've rejected and you've gone your way and you've had your sin and you've rejected and you've gone your way and you've had your sin and you're living in your sin and you're breathing in your sin and you're moving in your sin and you're pursuing your sin. I'm here to tell you today that he still loves you. I'm here to tell you today that that wrath has not yet fallen on your head, that wrath has not yet been poured out on you, because when he speaks to you just a little bit in his wrath, there's none of us that can withstand that, my friend.

Speaker 1:

But today he's speaking to you as a king, because he is a king. He's speaking to you as a savior, because he is a savior. He's speaking to you as the truth, because he is the way, the truth and the life. He's speaking to you as the lamb who was slain and risen again because, hallelujah and amen. God put all of your sin onto him and he put himself in your place.

Speaker 1:

He put all of your sin on Jesus and Jesus Christ himself took all of your sin upon himself and he did it willingly, and scripture tells us that no man took his life from him, but he laid it down. He laid it down because the father wanted a way to be reconciled with you. He wanted a way for your sin to be forgiven and your sin to be forgotten and your sin to be cast into a sea of forgetfulness, and for you to be separated from your sin as far as east is from the west. He made a way for you to be adopted into his family. He made a way for you to become one of his sons and one of his daughters. He made a way for you to be forgiven and to be set free from the sin that is dragging you further and further into death.

Speaker 1:

And, my friend, if you're not set free from it, my friend, if you keep on going with it, you are going to end up in the devil's hell. The wages of sin is death, my friend. The payment that you can expect to receive from your sin is nothing but death. But the gift of God to you today, the gift of God to whosoever will believe him today, the gift of God to the worst sinner among us today, is eternal life through Jesus Christ, our Lord. That's the kind of God he is, that's the kind of king he is, that's the kind of authority he is. He's the kind of king who is good to his enemies, he shows kindness to his enemies. He's not just nice to his enemies, but he shows kindness to his enemies and he shows love to his enemies. And he shows love to his enemies because who would die to make an enemy into a friend?

Speaker 1:

Who among us, some among us and the book of Romans tells us this some among us would die for a good person. We would die so that they could live. But Jesus Christ died so that the worst of us, jesus Christ died so that the murderer, jesus Christ died. So that the thief, jesus Christ died. So that the liar, Jesus Christ died. So that the adulterer, jesus Christ died. So that the drunk Jesus Christ died. So that the addict, jesus Christ died. So that the drunk Jesus Christ died. So that the addict, jesus Christ died. So that the blasphemer, jesus Christ died. So that the idol worshiper, jesus Christ died, so that his enemies could be forgiven. Jesus Christ died so that his enemies could be made into his friends, enemies could be made into his friends.

Speaker 1:

Jesus Christ died so that you could be reconciled to him and that your sin would be dealt with in a way that doesn't involve your eternal damnation in hell. Instead, god would be faithful and just to forgive you because you trusted in Jesus. To forgive you because you trusted in Jesus. Jesus already died your death. Jesus already took the wrath of God. Jesus already died your death and glory. Hallelujah. He's alive today and he is drawing you today and he's saying come unto me today. Come up out of your sin today. Come up out of your death today. Come up out of your lies and your drunkenness and your fornications. Come up out of your hatred. Come up out of your anger. Come up out of your lies and your drunkenness and your fornications. Come up out of your hatred. Come up out of your anger. Come up out of your blame. Come up out of your pride and come up and be saved. Come up and be born again. Come up and be reconciled. Come up and receive eternal life. Come up and receive a new eternal life that begins now and stretches all the way into eternity.

Speaker 1:

My friend, but will you obey him today? And, my friend, I need to tell you this even if you refuse him today, there will come a day where you will have to obey him, because he has appointed a day in which he will judge this world in righteousness. And on that final day, my friend, even if you go through this life raging against Jesus, even if you go through this life proud against Jesus, even if you go through this life resisting Jesus until your last breath, there will come a day when every tongue will bow, every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God, the Father, even yours. But, my friend, I don't want you to see that judgment. I don't want you to see that day.

Speaker 1:

I want you and hallelujah amen, the Lord himself wants you now. Will you bow before him today? Will you bow before him today? Will you willingly submit yourself to Jesus today and call upon Jesus as a humble, broken, contrite, sinner? And hallelujah, today you know you call upon Jesus and he is faithful and he is just to forgive you. You call upon Jesus and man, you may go to the floor as a sinner, but you rise up again as a saint, born again, forgiven and free from your sin, filled with the Holy Ghost, given a new living spirit. And hallelujah amen. Given a new and eternal life, and I pray that that's you today.

Speaker 1:
