Redeeming Love Bible Broadcast

Alive and Well

Pastor Phil Duddy Season 5 Episode 19

Send us a text

The living presence of Jesus Christ changes everything. Not as a distant concept or mere historical figure, but as an active, engaged Lord who speaks into your specific circumstances right now.

When we truly grasp that Jesus is alive (not just theoretically but practically), it transforms how we approach everything. Financial stress, relational conflict, health concerns, workplace difficulties — none of these situations remain the same when we walk with the living Christ through them. He knows you better than you know yourself. Your thoughts, feelings, family dynamics, and deepest needs are completely visible to Him, and He responds not as a passive observer but as sovereign Lord.

This episode explores what it means to turn toward Jesus like John did in Revelation, hearing His voice "like a trumpet" and actively beholding Him. The invitation remains clear: cast your cares upon Him because He genuinely cares for you. His yoke is easy, His burden light, and He never intended for you to walk through life's difficulties alone.

NEW BOOK! I'm pleased to say that we have completed a new book that has been years in the making. The Ten Shirot: Songs of Redemption looks at ten songs that were sung through pivotal times in Scripture. It's an examination of the redemption of Jesus, of worship, and of Scripture in a way that we believe you probably haven't seen before. Check it out at https://a.co/d/0a4KIooL .

Speaker 1:

Greetings, salutations and welcome to the Redeeming Love Bible broadcast. My name is Phil Duddy, evangelist with Grace Baptist Tabernacle of King, north Carolina. Thankful to have you with me on the program today. Reach out to us at redeemingthelost at icloudcom. We look forward to hearing from you there the fact that Jesus is alive. That's what we're going to be talking about today.

Speaker 1:

He is alive and this is a very, very, very practical reality, because God is who he is. He's alive and he's living. And the thing about him is he's not some distant, far away God, and he's not just merely an encouraging thought. He's a living God. He's active, he moves in situations, he moves in his creation and he's moving in your life today, right this moment, and he has been moving in your life leading up to this moment. And after this moment is done, god is still going to be moving in your life. Whether you believe him or not, whether you're born again or not, whether you're a member of a church or not, whether you love God or whether you hate God, the reality is he is alive, he's alive, he's alive, he's alive, he's alive. And he's not just alive he speaks. He doesn't just speak, he moves. And as he speaks and as he moves and as he lives. He is king of all kings and he is lord of all lords.

Speaker 1:

What the Lord does has effects. What the Lord does cannot be stopped, and this is a practical reality. This changes every situation that you're in. This changes every situation that you have gone through. This changes every situation that you ever will go through, because the Lord is who he is and he's alive and he's risen. And whatever your situation is today, as you're listening to this, jesus is. Whatever your situation is today, jesus has a word to you and for you that is personal and directed to you, because, glory and amen, hallelujah, he is alive and he is Lord and he is holy and he is love and he is merciful and he is gracious and he is faithful and he is true and he is true and he is justice and he is judgment and he's wonderful counselor, mighty God. He's the Lamb of God, he's the good shepherd, he's your king, he's your Lord and he's the lover of your soul.

Speaker 1:

And so he's alive, he's well, he's speaking, he's moving and he knows you. My friend, this God, he knows you better than you know yourself. He knows you, he knows your mind, he knows your heart, he knows your will. He knows what's going on in your body. He knows what's going on in your family. He knows what's going on in your workplace. He knows what's going on in your family. He knows what's going on in your workplace. He knows what's going on in your city, in your town, in your nation and in your church. He knows what's going on in your household. He knows what's going on in you. He knows what's going on and the fact is he is speaking and he is moving, and he's doing all this as the Lord. He's not doing this sort of from far away. He's not doing this whenever you remember him, whenever you think about him. No, he's doing this all the time because he is Lord.

Speaker 1:

And that changes the reality, that changes the circumstance, that changes the situation. Because you bring the reality, the truth that Jesus is alive, into your situation. Bring Jesus into your heart, bring Jesus into your mind, bring Jesus into your family, bring Jesus into what's going on with your friends, bring Jesus into whatever's going on with your friends, bring Jesus into whatever's going on in your finances. My friend, he has a word for everything. He has a promise for you today, and that's true whether you're saved, whether you're born again, whether you're washed in the blood, whether you're spirit-filled, whether you're rejoicing in Jesus today or that's true, whether you're listening to this and you're not born again. You're listening to this and you're separate from him. You're listening to this and you're even against him. He has a word for you and to you. For you and to you, in whatever situation you're in, and that's what I'm trying to get across today. This is practical, my friend, because bring Jesus into your finances.

Speaker 1:

How easy is it humanly to get concerned? How easy is it humanly to get nervous? How easy is it humanly to get frustrated? How easily is it humanly to become fearful? How easy is it humanly to just say you're never going to trust anybody again? How easy is it humanly to go there? But bring Jesus into that.

Speaker 1:

Bring Jesus into that, bring Jesus into a marriage situation. Bring Jesus into a relationship between you and your kids. Bring Jesus into the relationship between you and somebody who can't stand you and hates you and says all these horrible things about you. Bring Jesus into that and watch it change, watch it change, watch Jesus change you and watch Jesus move in that situation Because, my friend, he moves as Lord, he moves as King, he moves as love, he moves as a great high priest.

Speaker 1:

All these things describe who he is and he's given this, you know, in his word to us, to describe to us exactly who he is, because he wants you to know who he is, because he knows you and he loves you. He wants you to know who he is. He wants you to know what the truth is. He wants you to know what holiness is. He wants you to know what's really good. He wants you to know what's really just. He wants you to know what's really right. He wants you to know what real joy is, what real peace is, what real hope is, what faithfulness is.

Speaker 1:

Now he wants to display his glory in you and through you and he wants that relationship, he wants that fellowship with you. He wants that right relationship, the way he made it to be before sin entered into the picture, way back in the Garden of Eden. He wants that relationship restored in you and he wants you to be walking in the fullness of joy, in a fullness of life, in a fullness of abundance, in a fruitfulness, in an abundance of peace, an abundance of real living hope, an abundance of the truth, an abundance of wisdom. He wants that in you and through you, my friend, it doesn't come out of you, it comes from him. It comes from him. Every good thing, every perfect gift, it comes from him, and hallelujah and amen. It's by grace and through faith, my friend. These things are added to you, these things are applied to you. These things you know. We're born again. We're saved from the wrath of God. Our sin, the blood of Jesus gets applied to us and our sin is washed away. How does that happen? It's by grace and through faith.

Speaker 1:

How do you grow in the full stature of Christ, how do you mature in Christ? By faith. We follow him. We walk with him. We obey him by faith. We love him, and so we follow him. We walk with him. We obey him by faith. We love him, and so we follow him. We love him, and so we believe him. We love him, and so we love our neighbors. We love him, and so we have charity in all things. We love him, and so we love the truth. We love him, and so we love justice. We love him, and so we love judgment and equity. We love mercy. We love grace. We love him.

Speaker 1:

And so, out of this love relationship, the Lord starts changing us. The Lord starts growing us, the Lord starts maturing us and we walk as he walked. We walk with him. We walk as the light of this world, but it's not our light. We walk as the salt of the earth, but it's not our salt. We walk in him and we walk through him and he starts moving in us and through us.

Speaker 1:

So, my friend, this alive, this God who is alive, this living God, the fact that he's alive changes everything. And, my friend, we got to come to the book of Revelation in this, come to the book of Revelation, chapter one, and we're going to be in verse 10. And this is the apostle John is writing, and he's writing something that the Lord gave him to write. And so listen to this. He says I was in the spirit on the Lord's day and heard behind me a great voice, as of a trumpet. Now, glory and hallelujah and amen, the Lord is alive and the Lord is speaking. And the Lord speaks with a great voice, a voice that could not be put aside, a voice that could not be explained away, a voice that could not be ignored, a voice that would not be ignored, a voice that got your attention. It was as of a trumpet, and the trumpet was used to make announcements that affected a whole lot of people. They were announcements of great public interest, and the Lord is saying to all the world I am alive, I'm alive, I'm alive forevermore.

Speaker 1:

He's saying to all of this world and at the same time, he's saying it to the world, he's saying it to you I am alive, no matter what situation you're in. I am alive and I speak and I move. I am alive. To my church, to my beloved bride I am alive. To my beloved bride, I am alive. I am your husbandman and I am alive. I'm the lover of your soul and I'm alive. I'm the one who brought the church into existence, and I'm alive. I'm the one who maintains the church. I'm the one who takes care of the church, I'm the head of the church, and I am alive. Not only am I alive, I am effectual in all that I do, all that I say, all that I speak. It has an effect. I am alive, no matter what your pain is today, I'm alive. No matter what your hurt is, I'm alive. No matter what your distraction is, I'm alive. No matter what your hang-up is, I'm alive.

Speaker 1:

Jesus is alive and he's speaking. What is he saying to you? You know, blessed be the name of the Lord. He says I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last. I am the same yesterday, today and forever. The same Jesus who is speaking to John here, the same Spirit you know, john was in the Spirit on the Lord's day that same Holy Spirit's alive, the same Father, the same Father who gave his only begotten son generations ago. He's alive and he wants you to know it. Not only know it, but believe him. Not only believe him but trust him. Have faith in him. Hallelujah and amen, because he's the same yesterday, today and forever. He's Alpha and Omega, the first and the last. And he tells John, he says what you see, write in a book and send it unto the seven churches which are in Asia, and he lists off all those churches. He had a word for John here, and glory amen.

Speaker 1:

John followed through with his word and so, bless God, we have the precious book of Revelation today. What is his word to you? Verse 12,. John turned, he said. I turned to see the voice that spake with me. John turned to see him. John turns to see him. You know, it's implied here.

Speaker 1:

This happened behind him and John had to turn around and John beheld the Lord that day. He beheld the risen Lord that day. He said, in the midst of the seven candlesticks, one like unto the Son of man, clothed with a garment down to the foot, and he describes him, he describes him, he describes him and every part of this description is part of who Jesus is. But the point for today, my friend, the point for you and me today, john turns to behold him. Will you hear and will you turn today, right in this very moment, whatever your situation is? Again, you know, whatever your pain is, whatever your hurt is, whatever your trouble is in this world, will you turn to the Lord, will you hear and receive what the Lord has to say about it and in hearing what he says about it, receive him, because the Lord speaks and the Lord gives his word and the word exists and the word is here and the word is perfect and the word is complete. And the Word is here and the Word is perfect and the Word is complete, and the Lord honors His Word.

Speaker 1:

At the same time, he's looking for you to love Him, not just what he says, not just what he does, not just what he can do, not just what he has done and not just what he will do. Don't just love his things, don't just love his stuff, don't just love his promises, but love the Lord, God himself, the one who brought Israel out of Egypt, the one who raised up all the prophets, the one who gave his only begotten son, the one who went to the cross, the one who shed his blood so that you and I could be forgiven, so that you and I could be made whole, so that you and I could be with him where he is. The one who is coming again, the one who is returning. Love him, and not just what he's done. Know what he's done, appreciate what he's done, treasure what he's done, be thankful for what he's done, worship him for what he has done. But don't stop there, my friend. Let all of that lead you to him and love him.

Speaker 1:

So, my friend, will you turn today? Will you turn to the Lord Jesus? And I know that folks who are listening to this, some folks, might be in a tremendous amount of trouble, a tremendous amount of pain, a tremendous amount of hard circumstances. But, my friend, you know, I can testify the Lord's yoke is easy and the Lord's burden is light, and he doesn't want you to bear that situation alone. He doesn't want you to bear that weight alone. He doesn't want you to bear life alone, even when life is easy. He doesn't want you to bear that weight alone. He doesn't want you to bear life alone, even when life is easy. He doesn't want you to bear it alone.

Speaker 1:

My friend, but turn to him, call upon him, cast your cares upon him, because he cares for you, he invites you. Because he cares for you. He invites you, he even commands you. Cast your cares upon him. I don't want you to be crushed under the burden of this world. I don't want you to be crushed under that burden. And so cast it to me and believe what I say. Walk in my peace, walk in my strength, walk in my victory.

Speaker 1:

Because I overcame this world and because I overcame this world, every man, woman and child who is in me, every man, woman and child who's born again, every man, woman and child who's born again, every man, woman and child who's got my Holy Spirit, who's washed in my blood. You've overcome the world too, because I did it first. And you're alive, because I'm alive. And I didn't design you, I didn't make you, I didn't form you to be alone. I gave you brothers and sisters in the church and I gave you myself. So turn to him, my friend, cast your cares upon him.

Speaker 1:

And, my friend, if you need to be born again, if you're yet in your sins, my friend, what a day, what a time, what a moment to call upon the name of the Lord. His salvation is by grace and through faith. It's not through any magical words that you say, it's not through any amount of money that you give. It's not through going and participating in services or rituals or anything like that. It's by simple grace and by simple faith in Jesus, because he's alive and well today. But he also died. He died in your place. He shed his blood in your place.

Speaker 1:

There was a time, there was a moment in history, where Jesus went to a cross and on that cross, the Lord took all of your sin upon himself because his father laid it on him. The father laid the sin of the world and that includes yours on the son world and that includes yours on the sun, and Jesus bled and Jesus died. So all of your lusts, all of your fornications, all of your adulteries, all of your, you know that murderous anger, all of that ungodly fear, all of that unbelief, all of the blasphemy. All of you know any expression of sin you could imagine, any expression of sin that ever came out of you, my friend. It got laid on Jesus and he died a death, and he did it in your place. He died the death that should be yours in the eyes of God, and now today, as you've heard so many times today in this message, he's alive.

Speaker 1:

What's that mean for you, my friends? That death is applied to you. If you trust Jesus by grace and through faith, his death is applied to you. The blood he shed is applied to you. And so God is faithful and just to forgive you. God forgives you as you trust Jesus. He forgives you and he makes you whole.

Speaker 1:

And hallelujah and amen, my friends, trust him today, put your faith in him today. Ask him to be born again, ask him to be saved, ask him to wash all of your sin away. Hallelujah and amen. He's already made the provision for you. There's nothing more that you have to give. There's no other work that you have to do. Believe on him, my friend, Trust him, call upon him today. Let that faith that's in you rise up into some words and talk to him just as though he's sitting right across the table from you or sitting right next to you. My friend, he's alive and if you're honest, if you call on him honestly, with an honest faith, he'll never turn you away. And so, my friend, call upon the name of the Lord Church. I pray that this has been a real encouragement to you, the fact that he is alive, because, my friend, we walked through some troubles in this world. The Lord told us that in this world you will have trouble, and the good news is he's overcome the world and every moment of every trouble he walks through it with you. He leads you on. So follow him today, trust him today and watch the Lord be glorified in your life today.
